Muscle Dynasty three-peats at Dover

Dover, DE — Muscle Dynasty was amply strong in Tuesday night’s (March 14) $25,000 Open Handicap Trot at Bally’s Dover, making two moves en route to his third consecutive top-level win.

Northern Express blasted off the wings of the starting gate to lead Embrace The Grind through a :28.2 first quarter. Muscle Dynasty, whom Corey Callahan settled in third after leaving from post seven, brushed to the lead past the quarter and controlled a :56.4 half before Embrace The Grind began a first-over push into the wind up the backstretch. Muscle Dynasty maintained a 1-1/2-length advantage to three-quarters in 1:26.2, and sprinted away in the stretch while Northern Express proved unable to make up any ground from the pocket. The 5-year-old Muscle Hill gelding won confidently by 2-1/2 lengths in 1:55.3, with a two-second wind allowance granted by the judges. Northern Express (driven by Russell Foster) finished second; Quiksilvr Bluechip (Victor Kirby) closed along the pylons to finish third.
