Columbus, OH — Longtime Northfield Park president Myron Charna, 95, of South Euclid, Ohio, died Oct. 15, 2026.
Borne Dec. 3, 1930, to Jack and Lillian (née Snyder), Mr. Charna was a graduate of John Adams High School and veteran of the Korean War. He served as president of Prestige Management Company and Northfield Park for over 25 years. His impact on Northfield Park continues to be remembered through its annual President’s Pace.
Known for being tough-minded and occasionally rough around the edges, Mr. Charna nevertheless took pride in being fair and was always willing to listen. His employees respected him, and those who knew him well discovered the soft heart beneath his sometimes-gruff exterior, along with his wonderfully dry sense of humor.
After retiring at the age of 82, Mr. Charna enjoyed his golden years alongside his wife of 64 years, Evelyn (née Commins), until her passing in 2016. The final 10 years of Mr. Charna’s life were dominated by his doting over his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Charna is survived by his children, Michael (Cherie) and Lynne Fein (Stephen); five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene.
Services will be held on Sunday, Oct. 18, at 1 p.m. at Berkowitz-Kumin-Bookatz Memorial Chapel, 1985 S. Taylor Road, Cleveland Heights, OH 44118. Interment will follow at Zion Memorial Park Cemetery.
