NAADA supports rehabilitation mission of Purple Haze

New Hyde Park, NY — The North American Amateur Drivers Association (NAADA) has announced a donation of two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500) to the Oxford, New York-based Purple Haze Standardbred Adoption Program, a 501(c)3 organization which seeks to ensure that retired Standardbred horses find a second career after racing.

Purple Haze was established by prominent Standardbred owner Wanda Polisseni as a reflection of her deep concern regarding horse welfare. “Purple Haze is an approved horse rehabilitation facility accredited by the umbrella Standardbred Transition Alliance (STA), and NAADA’s membership of amateur drivers is proud to make this contribution in furtherance of its mission.”, said the NAADA founder, Joe Faraldo.

NAADA dues and the contribution of drivers’ 5% account for the contribution made. This contribution continues NAADA’s charitable giving tradition. It follows a donation made to the NYC Tunnel to Towers Foundation, established in the aftermath of 9/11. “NAADA also has plans to make a contribution to the Sullivan County Veterans during the month of November”, said Alan Schwartz the organization Vice President and himself a Vietnam War veteran.
