New Holland finals set for Saturday at Woodbine Mohawk Park

Milton, ON — The inaugural New Holland Series will conclude on a fun-filled evening this Saturday (March 25) at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

The New Holland Series for non-winners of C$150,000 in 2022 will feature a C$72,000 final for trotters and C$70,500 final for pacers. Preliminary legs were contested over the month of March to set up this Saturday’s finals.

As part of the festivities for this Saturday’s finals, the first 300 fans to the track will receive a special New Holland collectors cup and a free $2 wager all courtesy of New Holland. In addition, New Holland will be bringing in extra farm equipment as part of a special display that fans will have the opportunity to grab photos with and check out.

The New Holland Series finals have been carded as races five and seven on Saturday’s 13-race card.

The trotting event saw four different winners over the course of the preliminary legs. Carmen Auciello trainee Itstimetogohome (post one, Doug McNair) and Shawn Steacy trainee Ritson (post six, Scott Young) captured leg one divisions, while Per Engblom trainee Sermon (post eight, Bob McClure) and Harry Poulton trainee Locatelli (post nine, James MacDonald) took top spot in round two.

The C$72,000 New Holland Trotting Series final goes as race five.

The pacing final will see Nautical Hanover (post eight, James MacDonald) go for a series sweep. The Ben Baillargeon trainee took one of two divisions in leg one before capturing the lone second leg division in 1:51.1.

The C$70,500 New Holland Pacing Series final goes as race seven.
