New York Sire Stakes releases 2024 directory of eligible stallions

Albany, NY — The Agriculture & New York State Horse Breeding Development Fund has released its list of eligible stallions for the 2024 breeding season. The digital-only directory is now available online and can be found here.

This year’s Stallion Directory features pedigrees, career statistics, cash earnings and breeder information for 32 Standardbred stallions. Leading the 2024 stallion roster is trotting sire Chapter Seven and pacing sire Huntsville.

“The 2024 Stallion Directory demonstrates the prosperous breeding program that has rapidly grown in the State of New York,” said Ralph Scunziano, Executive Director of the Agriculture & New York State Horse Breeding Development Fund. “The stallions highlighting the pages of this year’s directory provide a glimpse into the future champions of New York Sire Stakes racing.”

To be eligible for entry into the directory, stallions must be owned or leased by a New York resident for at least a year and meet all other requirements set forth by the Agriculture & New York State Horse Breeding Development Fund. The deadline for eligibility registration was Jan. 2.

The New York Sire Stakes is the state’s premier harness racing program for 2- and 3-year-old Standardbreds. Established to encourage the breeding, buying and racing of Standardbred horses in New York State, it is the nation’s oldest harness racing program of its kind and has served as a model for state-bred racing programs.
