Milton, ON – A busy slate of stakes action is now set for the next two weekends at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
The entry box closed Tuesday morning (Sept. 15) for a quartet of Grade 1 races – Metro Pace, Canadian Trotting Classic, She’s A Great Lady and Elegantimage.
The Canadian Trotting Classic, for 3-year-old trotters, and the She’s A Great Lady, for 2-year-old filly pacers, will not need eliminations this weekend. The Canadian Trotting Classic received eight entrants, while the She’s A Great Lady attracted a group of 11.
Among the sophomores in the Canadian Trotting Classic is Hambletonian champion Apex.

The Metro Pace (G1), for 2-year-old pacers, will have a pair of six-horse eliminations this Saturday evening (Sept. 19). The top five finishers from each will advance to the C$1 million final on Saturday, Sept. 26. The Elegantimage (G1), for 3-year-old filly trotters, will have eliminations this Friday (Sept. 18). A pair of nine-horse eliminations have been drawn. Top five from each split will advance to the C$400,000 final on Saturday, Sept. 26.
