Dayton, OH — In tonight’s featured Filly & Mare Open, No Foolin April wasn’t fooling around, as she took the main event, giving back to back victories to the Adam Short trainee at the Dayton oval.
The opening quarter saw a spirited 3-wide battle between Fearless Ginger, protecting the rail from post three, a parked out Shadows Dancers, and a leaving No Foolin April three wide through the opening turn.

As the mares passed the opening quarter in :26, Shadows Dancers cleared for the lead only to be immediately challenged by the still hung out No Foolin April. Jeremy Smith and No Foolin April finally cleared once they reached the tote board for the first time and took the field single file past the half in :54.2.
The outer flow began to develop just past the halfway mark when Got Sexy Scars and driver Sam Widger moved to the outside from 5th and were able to flush cover from Chris Page and Fearless Ginger. She was able to work up within a head of the leader to a three quarters timed in 1:22.2.
As Fearless Ginger began to tire, No Foolin April was able to sneak away from the field by a couple of lengths and cruise home in a mile timed in 1:51. A hard-charging Brett Miller and mount High Flyin’ Filly used a 4-wide move around the final turn to close from 8th and finish 2nd, Shadows Dancers used a pocket trip to finish 3rd. The win pushed No Foolin April’s seasonal earnings to over $134,000 and was her 6th win of the year.
Driver Chris Page had a banner night, racking up five wins on the card. With Jeremy Smith also collecting 3 wins, the top pair now sit tied atop the drivers standings with 32 wins each through 11 cards.
