Ohio fair racing season is underway

Paulding, OH — The Ohio fair racing season got underway Tuesday night (June 10) with a nine-race card at the Paulding County Fair in Paulding. It also marked the first racing in the newly-formed Ohio Fair Racing Conference.

Easy Mom (Ilooklikemymom-Easy Lover) took the 2-year-old filly trot in 2:15. John Konesky III trains and drives the filly and also co-owns her with his son Patrick.

The 3-year-old colt pace went to Midnight Dude (Downtown Dude-Midnight Jewel) in 2:04.4. Dale Decker is the owner-trainer-driver of Midnight Dude.

Count Full Mac (Full Count-Stormin Tilly) captured the fastest split of the 3-year-old colt trot in 2:05.1. The gelding is owned, trained, and driven by Bud High. The other division went to Happy Go Jamie (His Highness-Party Doll). Steve Bateson and Mark Headworth co-own the gelding with Headworth performing the training and driving duties. Happy Go Jamie toured the Paulding oval in 2:08.1.

Bill Webb’s Indian Rockette (Indian Fever-Judith Priest) came home first in the 2-year-old filly pace after a mile in 2:14.2. Webb also trains the filly with Mark Headworth doing the driving.

Four overnight races completed Tuesday’s program.

Racing concludes Wednesday (June 11) with ten races on tap. Post time for the first race will be 6 p.m.
