Legendary Hanover dominates in Cane; Rocket Deo holds sway in Shady Daisy
Legendary Hanover kicked off a huge day of stakes action on Saturday (Aug. 3) at the Meadowlands with a track- and stakes-record 1:46.2 performance in the $248,000 Cane Pace, for sophomores. James MacDonald guided the son of Huntsville from the Well Said mare Lillian Hanover to his second straight stakes-winning performance, following a blowout 2-1/2-length victory in the Meadowlands Pace.

After two track records were set for older horses, Swingtown and Chris Page set a national season’s record for 2-year-old pacing colts on a five-eighths-mile track, winning his $87,500 Buckeye State Pace in 1:50.4.
Weather wreaks havoc at Big M
A 40-minute delay before the start of the program due to intense thunderstorms, another 40-minute delay due to an inquiry involving several horses, and, finally, a power outage that knocked out a portion of the lights as a result of all of the rain that fell just as the 10th race was heading to the gate, made for a tough Friday night (Aug. 2) at The Meadowlands.
