Nichols, NY — Driver Jim Pantaleano and trainer Kevin Reynolds Jr. ruled Tioga Downs on a rare Thursday matinee (Aug. 15).
When the dust settled Pantaleano came away with five winners and three of them came with trainer Reynolds. They combined for wins with Samosa Hanover, Johnny Chip, and Elysium Seelster. Pantaleano’s other wins came with Smooch and So Diva.
Forgot Thewallet A (Ridge Warren) charged late to capture the featured $10,000 fillies and mares pace.
In The Spotlight N (Tyler Miller) led to the quarter in :27.2. She used a :29.1 second quarter to be first to the half in :56.3. She continued to control things and led to three-quarters in 1:24.1.
As they made the turn for home Forgot Thewallet A ($22.40) came flying first-over and flew right by to win easily in 1:51.3. Alta Madeira N (Mike Merton) came up to take second. April Ava (Braxten Boyd) finished third.
Forgot Thewallet A is a 7-year-old mare by Heston Blue Chip. She is owned by Dr. Michael Miller and Team Rice Racing while trained by Maria Rice. It was her seventh win this season. She now has 15 career victories.
Tioga Downs returns to live racing on Saturday (Aug. 17) with a 12-race card starting at 6:15 p.m. There is no racing on Friday (Aug. 16).
