Wilkes-Barre, PA — There will be a change of date for the second leg of the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes and Stallion Series for 3-year-old trotting colts at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania.
Originally scheduled for Saturday (June 7), it will now be held a day later, during an evening card at Pocono on Sunday (June 8).
This Sire Stakes/Stallion Series event was scheduled for June 7, but so is the first Sire Stakes/Stallion Series leg for 3-year-old pacing fillies at The Meadows.
To give maximum opportunity to stables having horses at this high level, the Pennsylvania Harness Horsemen’s Association, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania State Horse Racing Commission’s Bureau of Standardbred Racing (the official overseeing body of these programs), the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association, and the racetracks and racing offices involved thought it best to move the sophomore colt trotters back one day, to a scheduled card when Pocono would be normally presenting a 6 p.m. program.
If there are any further questions, please contact the Pennsylvania Horse Racing Commission’s Standardbred Bureau, or the racing offices or horsemen’s associations at either of the racetracks involved.
