Perfect Twenty dominates in DSBF Late Closer final

Dover, DE — Perfect Twenty jogged in the $50,950 DSBF Late Closer final for 3-year-old colt and gelding trotters at Bally’s Dover on Tuesday (March 28). Trainer Clifton Green hit the trifecta as his trotters finished first, second and third.

Driver Tim Tetrick wasted little time and sent Perfect Twenty to the top and did not look back. Kodack Black, the main threat, made an unfortunate break before the start of the race.

Perfect Twenty, the 1-5 betting favorite, carved out fractions of :29.3, :58.3 and 1:28. Stablemates Hespookshescores and Reddy Fox chased but could not pass the leader. Perfect Twenty won in hand by four lengths in 1:57.3. He paid $2.40 to win. Stablemates Hespookshescores (Russell Foster) and Reddy Fox (Art Stafford Jr.) finished second and third, respectively.

Perfect Twenty (Yankee Royalty) is owned by Robert Allison Jr. The win brings Perfect Twenty’s lifetime earnings to $180,650.

Muscle Dynasty wins Open Handicap Trot

Muscle Dynasty raced relentlessly and won the Open Handicap Trot on Tuesday night.

JL Cruze left quickly off the wings of the starting gate and forced tucks by Northern Express into third and Muscle Dynasty, who was able to ease into fourth. The 4-5 betting favorite Hillexotic was parked to the quarter by JL Cruze in :27.

Hillexotic remained head strong and led the field of quality trotters to the half in :55.2 and three-quarters in 1:23.4. Muscle Dynasty maneuvered to the outside past the half and grinded away on the rim. Embrace The Grind followed second over.

Hillexotic’s lead continued to diminish in the stretch. Muscle Dynasty continued to inch up on the outside and collared a stubborn Hillexotic at the finish line. Muscle Dynasty won by a head in 1:53.3 and paid $9.80 for the win. Hillexotic fought hard but finished second for trainer Ron Burke. Tim Tetrick drove. Northern Express found room late and finished third for trainer Arty Foster Jr. Russell Foster drove.

Muscle Dynasty (Muscle Hill) is owned by Frank Chick. Shea Lare trained and Corey Callahan drove.

Tim Tetrick earned a driving triple.

Highlights on the racing card for Wednesday include a $50,800 DSBF Late Closer final for 3-year-old filly pacers and the Mares Open Handicap Pace. There will be a $1,704 Pick-5 carryover and a Pentafecta carryover of $1,284. Post time on Wednesday at Bally’s Dover is 4:30 p.m.
