Saratoga Springs, NY – Prairie Rocknroll (A Rocknroll Dance) overcame his outside post to drop and pop in the Saturday (Sept. 26) feature at Saratoga Casino Hotel.
The Kyle Spagnola trainee spent most of his summer competing in the Joe Gerrity Jr Memorial Invitational races, and following a pair of tries in the Open Pace, dropped down to the $14,500 Saturday feature in which he drew the outside post.
Prairie Rocknroll’s regular driver Billy Dobson blasted the 5-year-old gelding off the car early and he landed on the lead where he would remain going wire-to-wire in 1:52.4. The multi-time Open winner recorded his seventh victory in 19 seasonal tries scoring as the 3-5 betting favorite on Saturday.
Live racing continues on Sunday (S ept 27)at Saratoga where there will be a $1,550 carryover in the early Pick-5 pool. The Pick-5 begins in the matinee’s first race, which is set to kickoff at noon.
