Last year’s winner of the Prix d’Amerique, Idao de Tillard with Clement Duvaldestin, is ready to defend his title, and the chances are good.
With the victory in the Prix de Bourgogne on Dec. 29, the Thierry Duvaldestin-trained Idao de Tillard showed that top form is returning, and training reports up to this week have been positive.
Idao de Tillard is one of the horses that can win the Prix d’Amerique, but he may face tough competition from Sweden’s Sans Moteur with Björn Goop and the French Go On Boy with Romain Derieux.
Looking at the starting list and the pedigrees of the participants, it is interesting that although the offspring of Ready Cash and his sons dominate in France, there are only two offspring from this stallion line starting — Justin Bold, who has Bold Eagle as his sire, and Hussard du Landret, who has Bird Parker as his sire.
On the other hand, Coktail Jet/Love You are well represented with six participants. Love You and his full brother Repeat Love each have two offspring racing while Saxo de Vandel (Coktail Jet) and Booster Winner (Love You) have one each.
