Propulsion wins dramatic Masters-final

Propulsion, driven by Ôrjan Kihlström, won the European Trotting Masters final with a winner’s purse $190,000 dollars at Vincennes, Paris Saturday afternoon (September 7).

However, just 100 yards before the finish line it, looked as the French trotting gelding Cleangame with trainer/driver Jean Michel Bazire was going to win. But Cleangame suddenly went off stride and Propulsion managed to hold off a late charge from the French mare, Bahia Quesnot with trainer/driver Junior Guelpa to win.

Both were timed I 1.55.4 (mile rate) in the race that was the same distance as the Prix d’Amerique – 1-11/16 mile.

Bold Eagle driven by Björn Goop never found racing room down the stretch and finished third just ahead of long-leading Mindyourvalue WF with Robert Bergh.

Propulsion was raised and bred at the Cane Run Farm, who will sell a full brother to him, 105 Damien at the Lexington Selected Sale.
