Edgerton, OH — The Defiance County Fair at Hicksville, Ohio, has received some donations from various sources which will enable the fair to double the purses for its two Signature Series races. The races were originally advertised to have purses of $2,250 added, but they will now have purses of $4,500 added.

The Gene L. Vance Memorial Pace will take place on Tuesday (Aug. 22), while the Kermit Peter Memorial Trot will be contested on Friday (Aug. 25). The entry fee will be $75 for each race.

Entries for each race may be made online through the USTA or phoned to Bill Peters at 614.984.9515.

Entries for the Gene L. Vance Memorial Pace will close at 10 a.m. on Saturday (Aug. 19), and entries for the Kermit Peter Memorial Trot will close at 10 a.m. on Tuesday (Aug. 22).

There will be a veterinarian on the grounds to administer Lasix.
