Races at Port Royal (PA) canceled for Wednesday

Port Royal, PA — Both days of harness racing at the Port Royal (PA) Fair have now had to be canceled, as work on the track after Tuesday’s cancellation due to wet conditions did not yield any improvement, and the races were called off with safety top of mind.

Any horses declared into the Pennsylvania Fair Sire Stakes will be given three points in the standings, and will be credited with a start.

The purse for a given race will be divided equally among all horses declared, but the entry fee for the respective class must be in the hands of Port Royal officials before the purse check will be released. The Juniata County Fair phone number is 717.527.4414, or try Fair Horsemen’s President Jeff Zidek at 724.331.0029 for further information.

The skies willing, there will be racing at the York (PA) Fairgrounds next Monday and Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. both days; entries should be called in before Sunday at 10 a.m. to Race Secretary Don Young at 717.845.7811.
