Racing at Port Royal canceled for Tuesday

Port Royal, PA — The strong lash of the tail of Hurricane Isaac has stung the twicearound track at Port Royal, Pa., rendering the racing surface unusable for Tuesday night’s (Sept. 4) scheduled card of fair racing at 5 p.m.

There is also doubt about the Wednesday (Sept. 5) 12 noon program, depending on how the fortunes of weather treat central Pennsylvania in the next 24 hours.

This is the first cancellation of the fair season in Pennsylvania, at the 17th of 20 stops. The next stop is at York on Monday and Tuesday mornings, Sept. 10 and 11.
