Racing Rampage named 2022 Ohio 2-year-old Pacing Colt of the Year

Grove City, OH — Racing Rampage hit the board in all eight of his starts, winning five races including the Ohio Breeders Championship, on the way to being named the 2022 Ohio 2-year-old Pacing Colt of the Year.

In addition to winning the Ohio Breeders Championship, the son of Racing Hill won three legs of the Ohio Sires Stakes and the Ohio State Fair Stakes as he earned $227,797 in 2022. Trained by Darren Dowler and co-owned by Dowler and Lawrence Bettler, Racing Rampage was bred by Rose Run Farm.

Dowler says it is special to have a horse like Racing Rampage.

“He just loves to do his work. I never had to ask him to do anything.”

Racing Rampage will be honored at the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association annual awards banquet Jan. 14 at the Hilton Columbus-Polaris in Columbus, Ohio. Tickets to the banquet are $30 each and can be purchased by calling the OHHA office at 614.221.3650.

The 2022 Ohio Horse of the Year will be announced at the annual awards banquet.
