Nichols, NY — Racy Roxy A (Mike Merton) took the $10,000 featured fillies and mares pace on Thursday (July 4) at Tioga Downs.
Racy Roxy A ($2.60) went straight to the front and led to the quarter in :28.1. She used a :30.1 second quarter to be first to the half in :58.2. So Diva (Jim Taggert Jr.) came first-up to take a shot going down the backstretch but Racy Roxy A cruised to three-quarters in 1:26.2.
As they reached the stretch Racy Roxy A had plenty in the tank and won easily in 1:54.2. So Diva had to settle for second. The Stunning Nun N (Tyler Miller) finished third.
Racy Roxy A is a 6-year-old mare by Mr Feelgood. She is owned by Michael Casalino Jr. and trained by Rob Harmon. It was her fifth win this season and her 15th career victory.
Marcus Miller had a driving grand slam on the night. He got his wins with Bolt Of Beauty, Tail Hook, Prairie Special, and Frondeur. Mike Merton had a driving triple and Rob Harmon had a training triple.
