Oak Grove, KY — A winner in a Kentucky Sire Stakes final last season, Ronald Mersky’s talented International Moni mare Railee Something made a powerful 2025 debut on Tuesday (April 8) at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel while delivering as the 1-2 chalk in the $30,000 Open Trot.
Leaving from post eight, driver Brandon Bates muscled Railee Something to the point through a :27.3 first quarter and just cruised through the remainder of the mile. She clocked a :57.3 half and widened her lead to three-quarters in 1:26, all in progress to a 5-1/2-length win in 1:55.3.

DP Freedoms Chrome (driven by Peter Wrenn) vaulted from last to snag second from Oh Look Magic (Trace Tetrick), who was parked most of the mile and finished third. Sweet Mr Pinetucky (Marvin Luna) gave futile chase off a pocket trip and settled for fourth.
A homebred for Mersky, Railee Something continues towards millionaire status into her 5-year-old season, having banked $943,986 from 46 starts with 21 wins. She paid $3.10 to win.
Racing continues at Oak Grove on Monday (April 14). First-race post time at Oak Grove is 1:45 p.m. (CDT). For more information on Oak Grove, visit oakgrovegaming.com.
