The charismatic son of Love You and Caress The Senses hails from the family of Dancer’s Crown who was an undefeated 2-year-old and syndicated by Castleton Farm between the 2- and 3-year-old season for a reported $5,000,000. The family also contains the undefeated sister to Caress The Senses, Hillary B.R., who raced 15 times and won all 15.
Rattle My Cage was a talented 2-year-old and a tough competitor at 3, 4 and 5, racing at the very top level against the likes of Captain Corey, Alrajah One, Ecurie D Dk, It’s Academic, Jujubee, Dancinginthedark, Cuatro De Julio, Venerate and many others.
Rattle My Cage was a serious contender in most major stakes at 3 including the Hambletonian, Stanley Dancer, Breeders Crown, International Stallion, Reynolds and Kentucky Championship series, winning in Lexington in 1:51.3 at 3.
At 4, Rattle My Cage won in 1:50.2 with Sarah Svanstedt in the sulky, making her the fastest woman in the world behind a trotter. This also was Rattle My Cage’s European super sire Love You’s fastest offspring at the time. Rattle My Cage also won the Graduate elim and $250,000 final, beating horses like Venerate, Cuatro De Julio, Ambassador Hanover and Delayed Hanover. That year he also raced and competed extremely well agains Alrajah One, Ecurie D Dk, It’s Academic, Jujubee and others.
At 5, he was third in the Cutler, third in the Crawford, second in the Spirit Of Massachusetts, fourth in the Cashman, third in the Maple Leaf Trot, third in the Allerage and third in the Breeders Crown racing against Alrajah One, Venerate, Southwind Tyrion, It’s Academic and the other top older horses in North America that year. Once again, he showed extreme speed, strength and versatility.
