Nichols, NY – Tioga Downs played host to three divisions of the New York Sire Stakes for 3-year-old trotters on Friday (June 5).
Read The Room and driver Sarah Svanstedt charged late to win the $59,100 first division for colts and geldings.
Highway Six (driver Jeff Gregory) laid down all the early fractions, first to the quarter in :27.1, the half in :57.1 and three-quarters in 1:25.

As the field reached the stretch, Read The Room popped out of the pocket and came flying late to take the win by a neck in a lifetime best of 1:53.2. Highway Six had to settle for second and Twin B Seven Sins (Niko Karna) finished third.
Read The Room is a colt by Chapter Seven. He is owned by Ake Svanstedt Inc., Little E LLC, B Nasstrom Holding Inc., and Nils Munkhaugen. It was his first win this season and his third career victory. The Ake Svanstedt trainee paid $13.36 to win.
Silverstein (Matt Kakaley) cruised to an easy victory in the $59,100 second division for colts and geldings. He led to the quarter in :27.4, then used a :29.3 second quarter to be first to the half in :57.2. Sevenato (Trond Smedshammer) was first to make a move, going first-up down the backstretch. Silverstein was first to three-quarters in 1:26.4.
As they reached the stretch, second-place finisher AI (Tyler Buter) went all out after the leader, but Silverstein was too strong and won by 2-1/4 lengths in 1:53.3. Seven Grand (Sarah Svanstedt) was third best.
Silverstein is a gelding by Chapter Seven. He is owned by Dark Horse Farm and trained by Matt Burkholder. It was his second win this season and his sixth career victory. He paid $2.64 to win.
R Ro (Tyler Buter) won the $123,900 NYSS for fillies.
Storybook Love (Todd Ratchford) was first to the quarter in :27 and led to the half in :57. Sharp Seven (Jeff Gregory) then took control and led to three quarters in 1:25.
R Ro chased down Sharp Seven in deep stretch to nail down the win by three-quarters of a length in a lifetime best of 1:53.3. Lauren’s Chapter (Niko Karna) took home third money.
A filly by Chapter Seven, R Ro is trained by John Butenschoen for lessee M And L DE/Armitage Farm. It was her first win in 2026 and now has three career victories. She paid $7.02 to win.
Tioga Downs returns to live racing on Saturday (June 6), starting at 6:15 p.m. (EDT).
