Columbus, OH — Richard Munk, 72, a resident of Middletown, N.Y., died April 24, 2024.

Along with his wife, Karen, he was the manager of Funky Munky Stable, a popular fractional share ownership group based in New York that campaigned both Standardbred and Thoroughbred horses.

He was a member of the USTA, the Standardbred Owners Association of New York, the Standardbred Owners & Breeders Association of New Jersey and the New York Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; stepson, Marty (Anne) Kasperek; and grandchildren, Lucy and Cole.

A graveside service will be held at Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, Cottage Street, Middletown, N.Y., on Tuesday (April 30) at 10 a.m.
