Ross Perry, 68, dies

Coilumbus, OH — Ross M. Perry, 68, died Oct. 22, 2023, after a short illness at Noyes Hospital in Dansville, N.Y.

Mr. Perry lived in Batavia, N.Y., his entire life. He was a longtime member of the USTA and the Western New York Harness Horsemen’s Association.

He owned, trained and groomed many horses at Buffalo Raceway and Batavia Downs from the early 1970s until his retirement in 2001. He worked as a second trainer for long periods of time for local WNY trainers Jim Mulcahy and Joe Sarago.

He owned many horses throughout those years with his beloved cousins, including Eviction, Speedy David and Stoney Von.

Mr. Perry maintained an interest in WNY harness racing until the end of his life. Even when confined to his home, he rarely missed a card on his computer.

There are no funeral arrangements at this time.
