Russell Wayne Herr, 66, dies

Russell Wayne Herr, 66, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home in Groveport, Ohio on January 18th, 2023. He was born on February 25, 1956 to his parents the late Robert and Joy Herr in Columbus, Ohio.

Russell is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Susan. His siblings Robin, Jean, and William (Melanie). His children Jason (Colleen), Jarrod (Shae), J.R. (Lauren), Jennifer (Will) and Jonathan. His grandchildren Alexia, Maddelyn, Izabella, Victoria, Elise, Cruz, James, Reid, Grant, Priya, Olivia, and Camden.

Russ was an Eastmoor class of 1974 graduate. In 1979, Russ founded Winchester Landscape Gardens forging lifelong work/friend relationships across central Ohio in the Landscape Construction and Nurseryman’s Business. Russell loved equine harness racing, BBQ, bike rides, camping, pickleball and watching southwest Florida sunsets. He was a dedicated member of Madison Christian Church where he served as a Trustee, Youth Group Teacher, Men’s Ministry Leader, Missionary, and Door Greater to many.

A funeral is scheduled for Saturday, January 21st, 2023 at Madison Christian Church 3565 Bixby Rd, Groveport, OH 43125 with a visitation from 1pm to 4pm and a ceremony at 4pm.

A reception will follow the ceremony at Madison Christian Church. Lead Minister and friend Paul Barnes will officiate the ceremony. The service will be live streamed at https://www.madisonchristian.org or at https://www.facebook.com/MadisonChristianChurchGroveportOH. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Russell’s life.
