Sales topper at Norwegian yearling sale sold to U.S. connections

The most expensive yearling at the Norwegian Derbysale, a filly named Go for Gaagaa, was sold for 700,000 NOK — or  $71,000 — to Spring Station Bloodstock.

Go for Gaagaa is sired by Googoo Gaagaa and out of I D Entity (sired by Explosive Matter).

World champion Plunge Blue Chip 3,1:49.4 ($1,576,251) hails from the same family.

The most expensive colt at the Norwegian sale was also sired by Googoo Gaagaa — ID Holy Gaagaa, who sold for $54,000.

But overall, the Norwegian breeders were extremely disappointed with an average price at the sale of just $9,700.

At the Menhammar September online sale, held Sunday night, the prices also dropped from last year — no less than 23 percent.

A full brother to top trotter Who’s Who was sold for the highest price at the sale at 550,000 SEK — or $52,400.
