Woodstock, VA — Shenandoah Downs raises the curtain on its ninth season of pari-mutuel harness racing in Woodstock with a 10-race card Saturday (Sept. 14) and an 11-race program on Sunday (Sept. 15). Post time both days is 1:05 p.m. Of the 21 races scheduled, 13 have full eight horse fields. The seven-week season continues through October 27 with race cards every Saturday and Sunday.
Season highlight is Virginia Breeder’s Championship Day slated for closing day, Sunday (Oct. 27). Eight divisional championships will be on the line for 2 and 3-year-old pacers and trotters of both sexes with combined purse money of $650,000-plus. Breeders elimination/prep races will be contested over a series of four weekends beginning September 28 and continuing through October 20. Purses for each divisional prep will be $8,000.

The Shenandoah simulcast signal will be streamed on Dish-TV so fans around the country can wager Virginia races at their favorite track or simulcast outlet, and online via Twinspires, TVG, Xpressbet and NYRAbets. The track is located at the Shenandoah County Fairgrounds at I-81, Exit 283 in Woodstock, halfway between Harrisonburg and Winchester.
