Siegelman wins three at Freehold

Freehold, NJ — On Friday (Nov. 17), Austin Siegelman won three out of the 10 races conducted at Freehold Raceway.

His first victory was in race two, where he piloted 7-5 Jossie James A to the lead from post four and remained unchallenged as they set the pace for the rest of the mile and crossed the wire in 1:55.3. This win was the first of the day for trainer Cameron Capone, who later earned a training double when Panty Line won the finale at 4-1 after being parked out for the entire mile.

Siegelman won again in race four, swooping three-wide past the field in the first turn from post seven with 5-2 King Cast (trained by Michael Posner) and continuing to trot away from the field without facing any pressure for a 2:00.1 win.

The most exciting victory of the day for Siegelman came in race six, when he steered his very own Lincoln’s Girl N (Leah Posner) to victory from post five. Similar to his other wins, Siegelman quickly went to the lead and set the pace for the rest of the mile. Though he did face some pressure in the final turn, it was not too much to handle for Siegelman and his mare as they completed the mile in 1:57.2.

Eric Abbatiello had a driving double, winning with Hold Me Closer (Jenna Cornelison) in race seven and completing the Capone training double with Panty Line.

Freehold returns with 11 more races Saturday (Nov. 18) starting at 12:30 p.m.
