Sophomore filly trotters to open third leg of Ohio Sires Stakes

Grove City, OH — Two divisions of 3-year-old filly trotters will take to the Eldorado Scioto Downs track Friday night (June 16) in search of a win in the third leg of the Ohio Sires Stakes. A total of $110,000 will be on the line with each division carrying a purse of $55,000.

Previous leg winners Contechsfashion, Rose Run Yanae, and Rose Run Yolanda are entered.

In the first division, Rose Run Yanae is the early 6-5 favorite. The daughter of Triumphant Caviar was a winner in the first leg at Miami Valley on May 6. Chris Page will drive for trainer Ron Burke. Rose Run Yanae has hit the board in four of her five starts this year, winning two, for the ownership group of Burke Racing Stable, Hatfield Stables, Knox Services, and Weaver Bruscemi.

Gary Martin trainee Global Girl is the second choice at 7-5. Don Irvine Jr. will drive the Global Republic S filly.

In the second division, Rose Run Yolanda and Contechsfashion will square off. Rose Run Yolanda set a Miami Valley track record of 1:53.2 in winning the first leg. Contechsfashion won the only division of the second leg at Scioto Downs on May 29.

Rose Run Yolanda is the 9-5 favorite. Brett Miller will drive the Triumphant Caviar filly for trainer Todd Luther and Greg Luther Racing. She has won two races this year and hit the board in her two other starts.

Trevor Smith will drive Contechsfashion for trainer Chris Beaver. The daughter of Credit Fashion is the early second choice at 4-1. Contechsfashion has two wins in five starts for owners Martin Yoder and Evans Cattle Co.

First race post time is 5:50 p.m.
