Southwind Amazon headlines Preakness Day at Northville

Northville, MI — Southwind Amazon, the third winningest Standardbred of all time with 126 career tallies, headlines the featured $10,800 Open Pace this Saturday (May 20) at Northville Downs.

The Paul Holzman trainee returns to Michigan to take on the likes of Oh K Man, who has won his last two Open starts in a row; Catch Me Conrad, who was an Open winner three starts ago; Commander Bob, who was second to Oh K Man last out; Jet’s Sureshot, who has been third in the Open the past two weeks; Bluebird Pacific, who won at the Open 2 last out; and new shooter Go Dancing A, who comes in off a qualifier at Harrah’s Hoosier Park on May 6.

Southwind Amazon is 8-1 on the morning line and will be driven by Art McIlmurray. Southwind Amazon has earned $1,438,517 in purses in his career, and his 126 wins to date put him just two behind Rambling Willie, who is the second winningest Standardbred of all time.
