W. Springfield, MA — Standardbreds made a remarkable impression at this year’s Equine Affaire, showcasing their versatility, athleticism, and gentle nature. From dressage to ranch work, these former racehorses proved they’re exceptional partners across many disciplines.
In addition to breed demos, Standardbreds competed in the Versatile Horse and Rider Competition, where horse-and-rider teams tackled challenging obstacles in a timed event.
Four Standardbreds also took part in the Breed Bonanza, with Kelly Conn and Xing The Delaware and Colleen Nolan-Tran and Determine This placing ninth and tenth, respectively, in this new open breed class.
Horses and riders/drivers representing the breed: Xing The Delaware and Kelly Conn; Determine This and Colleen Nolan-Tran; Good Bet and Lindsay Toms; Slippery Slope and Shannon Wilson; Chocolate Delight and Maria Buchanan; Lindons Rose Me N and Meaghan Martin; and Racingdownadream and Stephanie Jacobs.
