Indianapolis, IN — Starlitfranknstein won Thursday’s $42,695 Ralph Wilfong Memorial for 2-year-old trotters and This JK Rocks captured the $39,874 Fox Stake for 2-year-old pacers as the Grand Circuit visited the Indiana State Fair in Indianapolis.
Trace Tetrick guided Starlitfranknstein to victory for trainer Ron Burke. The colt won by a half-length over Sure Did in 1:58. Ponda Rocky finished third.
Starlitfranknstein, a son of Swan For All-A Southern Lily, has two wins and a second in three starts. He has earned $66,722 for owners Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi, Beasty, and Frank Baldachino. The colt was bred by John Wagler.
This JK Rocks won by a neck over Hopeyaliketheshow in 1:52.2 for driver Marcus Miller and trainer Erv Miller. Facing The Giants was third.
A son of JK Endofanera-This Peach Rocks, JK Rocks is owned by Engel Stable of IL, Andy Willinger, and Doug Overhiser. The colt was bred by Victory Hill Farm and has two wins and three seconds in five starts. He has earned $77,562.
Marcus Miller won three races on Thursday to lead all drivers. The 11-race card also included divisions of the Hoosier and Horseman stakes.
Among other winners was Papi Grad, a 2-year-old female pacer who is ranked No. 10 in the Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll. She won the $23,623 Hoosier for freshman filly pacers in 1:52 for driver Brett Miller and trainer Steve Carter.
She is 4-for-4 this year with earnings of $87,218 for owners Brent Hopper, Jay Mossbarger, TKO Racing Stable, and SCPStable&Friedland Racing. The daughter of Papi Rob Hanover-Betterthangraduate was bred by Midland Acres.
