Vernon, NY — Stewardoftheland (Frank Affrunti) cruised to an easy win in the $6,500 featured pace on Sunday (June 18) at Vernon Downs.

Stewardoftheland ($3.70) blasted out of the gate and flew to the first quarter in :25.4. He went :28.1 for the second quarter and was first to the half in :54. He was also first to three-quarters in 1:22.

As they reached the stretch second place finisher Gunpowder N (Jimmy Whittemore) gave it a late try but fell short of Stewardoftheland who won in a lifetime best of 1:50.4. Le Massif (Steeven Genois) finished third.

Stewardoftheland is a 4-year-old gelding by Huntsville. He is owned and trained by David Koslowsky. It was his third win this season. He now has seven career victories.

Frank Affrunti drove three winners on the card. Michelle Warner and Artie Dick each had training doubles.

Potato (aka Poe) won the Corgi race final. Anakin finished second. Binx was third.
