Kadena sells for $800,000 at opening session of Lexington Selected Sale
Kadena, a daughter of first-year sire Gimpanzee out of multiple Dan Patch Award-winning mare Mission Brief, equaled the highest price ever for a trotting filly at a yearling auction, selling for $800,000 to trainer Marcus Melander as agent during Monday’s opening session of the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale at the Fasig-Tipton Pavilion.
Papas Son Among DSBF Harrington Winners
Stephen Messick’s Papas Son ($4.20, Art Stafford Jr.) was the fastest of three divisional winners in the second leg of Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) $20,000 divisions for 2-year-old male pacers Monday (Oct. 2) at Harrington Raceway.
Dame, Wallop, big winners in Mass Stakes at Plainridge
The second session of 3-year-olds went behind the gate in the $3 million Massachusetts Sire Stakes at Plainridge Park on Monday afternoon (Oct. 2) and the close competition produced five new lifetime marks, only two winning favorites and seven different trainers each winning one division over the lightning fast track. Six of the seven divisions were split, more specifically for male trotters and fillies of both gaits and each went for $40,000.
OHHA to livestream Coshocton County Fair races
