A 41-day layoff proved to be no issue for Blue Ivy on Saturday night (Jan. 28) as she coasted to a 2-1/2 length victory in the featured $18,000 Filly and Mare Open Pace.

Rock Party, who has been knocking on the door in his three starts since arriving from Hoosier Park, gets the top billing in Sunday night’s (Jan. 29) $7,150 Open II Trot.

Beads (sired by Archangel) and bred by Atlantic Trot and Steve Stewart, was an easy winner of the main event, the Prix de Luxembourg, Saturday afternoon (Jan. 28) at Vincennes.

As mentioned in Hometown Life last week, representatives from Northville Downs submitted a proposal to build a new racetrack in northwest Plymouth Township, just a few miles from the current location at Seven Mile and Sheldon Road in Northville.

According to a press release from the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority, “The Federal Trade Commission has published the resubmitted Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority Anti-Doping and Medication Control rules to the Federal Register, initiating a 14-day public comment period. The FTC now has 60 days to approve or deny the proposed rules.”
