De Kooning tops opening session in Harrisburg
Male trotter De Kooning, a son of Muscle Hill-Brooklyn whose full brothers Kings County and Brooklyn Hill were winners on the Grand Circuit, sold for $600,000 on Monday to top the opening session of the 85th annual Standardbred Horse Sale. Ron Burke will train the colt, who was purchased by the group Burke, Brixton, Hatfield.
Tactical Mounds a pleasant surprise
After becoming more relaxed on the racetrack, 3-year-old female trotter Tactical Mounds has delivered a good bit of excitement this season for her connections. On Friday, the Megan Scran-trainee will return to Hoosier Park for the $115,000 Crossroads of America for sophomore filly trotters.
