Taggart sweeps Tioga features

Nichols, NY — Driver Jim Taggart Jr. teamed up with Swans Eye and So Diva to sweep the $12,500 co-featured events on Friday (Sept. 15) at Tioga Downs.

Swans Eye ($3.50) captured the featured trot.

Swans Eye was first to the quarter in :28. She used a :29.1 second quarter to be first to the half in :57.1. She continued to be in firm control as she led to three-quarters in 1:26. As they made the turn for home, she had plenty in the tank to win easily in 1:54.3. MacMorris Hanover (Bruce Aldrich Jr.) was second. BJ Lorado (Wally Hennessy) finished third.

Swans Eye is a 4-year-old mare by Swan For All owned and trained by Rocco Fava. It was her third win this season. She now has 10 career victories.

So Diva ($4.20) took the $12,500 featured distaff pace.

Prairie Westerngal (Tyler Miller) was first to the quarter in :26.4. So Diva grabbed a short lead but Talk Show Chica (Corey Braden) took over command with a circuit to go and led to the half in :55.3. Talk Show Chico was first to three-quarters in 1:24.

As they reached the stretch, So Diva popped the pocket and went right on by to win in 1:52.3. Talk Show Diva had her win streak snapped after seven straight wins and had to settle for second. PL Princess C (Jeff Long) finished third.

So Diva is a 5-year-old mare by So Surreal owned by Rita Scharman and trainer Michelle Warner. It was her fourth win this year. She now has 23 career victories.

Taggart, Wally Hennessey and Ridge Warren all had driving triples.
