Plainville, MA — Controlling the race from start to finish, Take Your Pick won the $24,000 Open Handicap pace for fillies and mares at Plainridge Park on Friday (Oct. 30) afternoon.

Take Your Pick took the lead from post six and reached the half in :55.2 with stablemate Blood Moon A (Nick Graffam) pocketed-up for the trip. Moving towards three-quarters, Sweet Hayley Jane A (Ron Cushing) moved first-over to advance and was met with a :27.1 backside brush from the leader. After rebuffing that challenge, Take Your Pick opened up a three-length lead at the top of the stretch and won by 3-1/2 in 1:50.4.
Take Your Pick ($8.00) is owned by Pollock Racing and trained by Enrico Robinson.
Ranger and Robinson also teamed up to win with the Pollock-owned Hunting Hula ($1:51.2, $3.00) and Seven Sins (1:54.2, $2.80), to lead their respective categories for the afternoon.
There were also two $20,000 upper-level conditioned secondary features on Friday’s card.

The first was a trot won by Caviart War Room (Michael Oosting), who drafted fifth behind the front-running Big Box Hanover (Nick Graffam) before rolling second-over past the half behind Heaven’s Pic (Mitchell Cushing) to the seven-eighths pole. There, he tipped three-deep and ran down the leader in deep stretch to win by 1-1/4 lengths in 1:54.3.
Caviart Was Room ($7.20) is owned by K R Breeding and Robert Rudolf and trained by Domenico Cecere.
The second was a pace for fillies and mares won by Mrs. Cheese (Kevin Switzer Jr.), who coincidentally also got away fifth behind One More Bet (Matty Athearn) before moving first-over at five-eighths to hook up with One More Bet and match strides around the last turn. That battle continued from the top of the stretch to just before the wire where Mrs. Cheese forged ahead by one-half length in 1:51.4.
Mrs. Cheese ($6.20) is owned by Kellogg Racing and Jackie Greene Stable and trained by Jackie Greene.
Racing will resume at Plainridge Park on Monday (Nov. 2) at a new, earlier post time of 1 p.m. and there will be a $28,643 carryover in the Wicked Hi-5 pentafecta wager in the sixth race. The 1 p.m. post time will remain for the rest of the meet, which concludes on Tuesday (Nov. 24).
