Nichols, NY — Tam Major A (Braxten Boyd) captured the $11,000 featured pace at Tioga Downs on Sunday (July 28).

Bluesville (Jim Pantaleano) was first to the quarter in :26.1. Tam Major A ($4.40) then took the lead with a lap to go and was first to the half :55.1. Sports Fan (Greg Merton) came first-up to challenge as they went down the backstretch. Tam Major A held a short lead to three-quarters in 1:22.2.
As they reached the stretch Tam Major A shook off Sports Fan and held off the late charging Cultural Paradise (Ridge Warren) to win in 1:51. Cultural Paradise had to settle for second. It’s In The Stars (Tyler Miller) finished third.
Tam Major A is a 10-year-old horse by Art Major. He is owned by Brian Carsey and trained by Brandy Wine. It was his 10th win this season. He now has 41 career victories.
Braxten Boyd and Tyler Miller had driving triples. Mike Deters and Domenico Leotta had training doubles.
