The Pantheiest prevails in Dayton Open

Dayton, OH — With Alexa Skye taking all the early betting action it was The Pantheist to prevail in the Friday (October 20) Fillies and Mares Open Pace at Dayton Raceway.

Leaving from post four Alexa Skye (Sam Widger) quickly launched off the car to take early command of the tempo, setting up early fractions of :27.3, :57.1 with The Pantheist (Trevor Smith) sitting tight in the pocket. A first over bid on Alexa Skye from Lee Loo (Brett Miller) prompted the pace to quicken to three-quarters in 1:25.1. Looming for the passing lane, The Pantheist made her move up the inside to edge out Alexa Skye, stopping the clock in 1:53.4.

Trevor Smith, fresh off his 1,000th career driving win, piloted The Pantheist to victory for trainer Erv Miller and owner Douglas Overhiser. The Pantheist now boasts 16 lifetime wins with career earnings of $300,000.

The Pantheist paid $7.80 to win.
