Topsham, ME — Sunday’s (Aug. 4) races at the Topsham (Maine) Fair have been postponed due to flooding at the fairgrounds caused by torrential downpours early Sunday morning.
The following schedule changes are now in effect:
- Sunday’s original card will be carried over to Monday (Aug. 5) and raced with a 1 p.m. post time.
- Monday’s original card will be carried over to Tuesday (Aug. 6) and raced with a 3 p.m. post time.
- Tuesday’s original card will be carried over to Wednesday (Aug. 7) and raced with a 1 p.m. post time.
- Thursday’s (Aug. 8) card will go as scheduled with a 3 p.m. post time.
- Saturday’s (Aug. 10) card will go as scheduled with a 1 p.m. post time.
“Fairground crews and volunteers are working diligently to repair flooding damage suffered in the paddock and to restore the viability of the racing surface,” said Topsham’s director of racing, Michelle Hardin. “We have a bit of a task ahead of us this afternoon, but we’re confident we’ll be able to go on with the show on Monday.”
Monday’s card will feature free admission with patrons afforded the opportunity to win free passes to the fair as well as to the additional harness racing cards to be held later in the week.
All harness racing cards will be broadcast live on YouTube, and online wagering opportunities will be available on the Hollywood Races platform.
