Travis Mack, 89, of Holton passed away Saturday morning, November 23, 2024 at the Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison.
He was born at Lancaster in Garrard County, Kentucky on April 18, 1935, the son of Henry and Emma Lamb Mack. He was married to Janet Walsh on September 18, 1955 and she preceded him in death on February 28 of this year.
Survivors include one son Kevin (Debbie) Mack of Versailles; grandchildren Brad Tunny of Mooresville, North Carolina and Kristi (Chris) Wicker of Seymour; 3 great-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren; two brothers Neal (Marilyn) Mack of Madison and Jake Elwood Mack of Satellite Beach, Florida.
He was also preceded in death by his daughter Rhonda Tunny, his parents, his brother Stanley Mack, and his sisters Dora Mack and Rhoda Morgan.
Mr. Mack owned and operated a construction and excavating company in Madison with Lloyd Mason for over 40 years. He and Janet owned and trained harness horses and for over 40 years, participating in races in several states. Travis enjoyed fishing, golfing, gardening, and going to flea markets.
Travis was a member of the US Trotting Association, Indiana Standardbred Association, and he and Janet attended the Dabney Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 27 at 11 a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Troy Green officiating. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Memorials may be given to the Dabney Baptist Church or the Holton Fire Department in care of the funeral home.
