Bangor, ME – Summertime temperatures have been on the sizzling side of the thermometer in Maine this season but no one has felt the heat quite like the competition that has been forced to line up behind the gate with the blazing hot Twin B High Tech.
From the last week in June through Wednesday’s (July 15) performance, Twin B High Tech has made Bangor Raceway’s optional $7,500 claiming class her own personal playground. Running roughshod over all contenders for four consecutive weeks and with regular driver Aaron Hall calling the shots, the 6-year-old daughter of Lazarus N continues to flaunt fleet and tenacious form while generating brilliant gate-to-wire efforts.
Simply put, she has refused to lose, despite facing down stern and determined competition on a weekly basis.
Hall had to work a bit to get Twin B High Tech to her customary front-end perch on Wednesday though as driver Heath Campbell aggressively riled up Nikasa N off the gate. Racing in lockstep through a brouhaha of an opening panel, Hall finally forced Campbell to take a seat after steaming through a torrid :27.2 quarter. Hall then deftly stole a strategic and much needed :31.1 second panel breather, leading the field to a :58.3 half, while girding for the inevitable challenges to come.
Joey Mosher was first to show, tipping Orrsterror into first-over position and providing live cover to the tripping GA Speed Matrix (Kevin Switzer, Jr). Switzer rode his cover for a bit more than an eighth-of-a-mile before clawing three-deep to come alongside the pacesetter, executing a maneuver which enabled Twin B High Tech and GA Speed Matrix to match strides around the final turn.
Careening into the stretch, Twin B High Tech hugged the pegs while GA Speed Matrix actually poked a nostril to the lead after veering extremely wide into the lane. But digging down deeply, Twin B High Tech drove with deft determination, reaching the wire a scant 3/4-length prior to her dogged foe to claim the score in 1:57.4.
“I thought I might have been beat today,” Hall explained. “She’s been letting horses come alongside her in the stretch the last couple of weeks before putting them away at the wire. GA Speed Matrix has been so good lately and when I saw her shoot off the turn, I thought she was going to power right on by. Twin B High Tech just doesn’t seem to want to lose right now.”
Twin B High Tech, who is owned and trained by Jamie Gerard, claimed her ninth win of the season with the victory.
“Jamie’s horses are really sharp right now,” Hall continued. “He does a great job with his roster. Look at Commander Cathy N (who rallied to finish third behind her stablemate on Wednesday). She’s as good as any mare in that class and has been threatening Twin B High Tech every week. That’s a good group of horses in that class.”
The win was one of three on the card for Hall who was matched for top driving honors on Wednesday by Campbell and Switzer.
Campbell currently leads Hall by one win on the Bangor Raceway leaderboard with one race day remaining in the summer meet.
The record setting 2026 summer harness meet at Bangor Raceway will conclude with the closing day program set to be carded on Sunday (July 19) with post time slated for 12:10 pm.
Racing will return to historic Bass Park during the Bangor State Fair with evening cards planned for Thursday (July 30) and Wednesday (August 5) featuring a 6:00 p.m. post.
