Plainville, MA — Open events for both male and female pacers were featured at Plainridge Park on Thursday (June 11) afternoon, and the winners of each put forth the best miles of their year to this point.
In the $27,500 Open Handicap for horses and geldings, Two Fold Cold found his old form and scored from behind for his first win of 2026.
Two Fold Cold (David Ingraham) got away sixth as Binge On Yankee (Mitchell Cushing) took the lead from Tenzing Bromac N (Ron Cushing) as they passed the quarter in :27. Shortly after the field settled, Ingraham put Two Fold Cold in gear and ambled his way towards the leader around turn two, eventually clearing the top at three-quarters in 1:23.1. By the time they made their way around the turn and reached the stretch, Two Fold Cold had a length advantage and maintained that while holding off a late-closing Franco Tyson A (Larry Stalbaum) to win in a season’s best 1:50.3.

It was the 25th lifetime win for Two Fold Cold ($6.60), who is owned by Marc Tardif and trained by Kelly Case.
Then, in the $25,000 Open Handicap for fillies and mares, Rocket Deo followed a fast first half and closed late for the win.
Swedish Starlet N (Matty Athearn), Joan’srisingstar N (Kevin Switzer Jr.) and Sweet Hayley Jane A (Ron Cushing) all argued for the lead early with Sweet Hayley Jayne A finally claiming the point past the :26.3 quarter, and then smoked to the half in :53.1. Turn The Page N (Mitchell Cushing) was moving first-over on the outside and Rocket Deo (Bradley Chisholm) followed her cover as they paced up the backside and into the far turn. Turn The Page N continued her forward motion in the turn and had the lead at the top of the stretch. But Rocket Deo tipped off cover, went right by Turn The Page N in the stretch, and pulled away to win by 2-1/2 lengths in 1:50.1, which was her fastest mile of the year.
Rocket Deo’s ($4.20) 21st lifetime win pushed her career earnings to $794,829. Brett Pelling trains the winner for owner Morrison Racing Stables.
There was a massive payout in the Wicked Hi-5 pentafecta in the day’s ninth race. A single player with the combination 5-7-9-4-1 won $48,880.64 for a 20-cent wager.
Bruce Ranger led all drivers on Thursday with three wins while trainers Jackie Greene and Enrico Robinson each won two races during the program.
