Tyler Miller gets grand slam, including feature, at Tioga

Nichols, NY — Tyler Miller drove four winners, including a victory with Knight Angel in the $10,500 Open 2 Trot, on Sunday (July 2) at Tioga Downs.

In the feature, Believer (Ridge Warren) was first to the quarter in :27.4. Andover Contessa (Mike Merton) went on by with a lap to go and led to the half in :56.4. Hunting As (Bruce Aldrich Jr.) was first to make a move going down the backstretch as Andover Contessa reached three-quarters first in 1:24.4.

As they made the turn for home Knight Angel ($12.00) came three-wide and blew right on by to win in 1:54.2. Andover Contessa had to settle for second and Believer finished third.

Knight Angel is a 7-year-old gelding by Archangel. He is owned by Jaypaul Hoover and is trained by Julie Miller. It was his second win this season and his 21st career victory.

Tyler Miller’s other wins came with Slave Labour, Sweet Tactics, and Munk.
