Delaware, OH — Ucandoit Blue Chip and Zanatta won their Jugette eliminations on Wednesday at the Delaware County Fairgrounds in central Ohio.

Ucandoit Blue Chip, sent off at odds of 5-1, was last in the five-horse opening $25,000 elimination of Wednesday’s Jugette, but rallied late to win in 1:50.3 for driver Scott Zeron and trainer Linda Toscano. The next three finishers, all advancing to the final later today, were Daffled Hanover, Earthwindfire, and Vivians Dream.

Every horse in the race held the lead at some point in the mile, with even-money favorite Earthwindfire and Bellisima Hanover exchanging the top spot in a first quarter of :25.4 and half in :54. Vivians Dream got a nose in front at three-quarters, reached in 1:22.2, before Daffled Hanover took over following a three-wide move that brought Ucandoit Blue Chip in tow.

Zanatta, at odds of 2-1, won the second Jugette elimination in 1:50.1 for driver Joe Bongiorno and trainer Jennifer Bongiorno. The next three finishers were Southwind Bella, Hey Hey Mama, and Odds On Hail Mary.

Zanatta led to the quarter in :26.3, Odds On Hail Mary was on top at the half in :55.1, and Southwind Bella was in front at three-quarters in 1:21.4 before Zanatta rallied from third to get the victory.
