Ultimaroca sells for $167,000

Boca Raton, FL — Ultimaroca p,4,1:49.2f led all auctions Tuesday afternoon (June 20) at onGait, bringing a winning bid of $167,000 from Mark Ford of New York.

The 5-year-old son of Rockin Image is in the midst of a bang-up campaign with six wins and over $107,000 in earnings so far in 2023.

The Ron Burke stable also sold Deliciousstone DK 8,1:52.3f for $61,000 to Anthony MacDonald’s The Stable as well as the unraced 2-year-olds Queenoftheclub, a Southwind Frank filly, for $9,400 to Calvin Hoover of Pennsylvania; the Sweet Lou son What’s The Craic for $6,800 to Eddie Mendez’s EVM Racing LLC of Delaware; and the Captain Crunch first-cropper Crispandcrunchy, selling for $4,800 to Ohio’s Westgate Farms.

Also on Tuesday, Jen Bongiorno was the high bidder for the roan trotter Urntrouble Hanover 4,1:54s for $27,000 and Alvira Capone Fassett of Pennsylvania bought Now Wish Me Luck 3,1:54.4s-’23, an Indiana bred Crescent Fashion filly, also for $27,000.

Currently in the auction ring are Greenshoe‘s 3-year-old full brother Polo Bar 2,Q1:57.4; Prove Em Wrong p,3,1:54.4s-’23, a Betterthancheddar stakes winning filly; and three from the Travis Alexander barn — Thanos p,5,1:51.4, A Bettor Beach p,5,1:49.1 and Dee’s Red Delicous 4,1:53.3f.

Established in 2001, onGait is coming off a record-breaking year in 2022 with sales of over $65 million in racehorses, yearlings and breeding stock and is on pace to surpass that mark in 2023.
