Vernon, NY — Vernon Downs plays host to a $110,100 leg of the New York Sire Stakes for 2-year-old pacing colts and gelding on Saturday (Aug. 17).
The main event will feature two undefeated pacers, as Thirsty Thursday (Matt Kakaley) takes on Fast Choice (Doug McNair) and seven others.
Both freshmen pacers are three for three. They each have NYSS wins at Batavia, Yonkers, and Saratoga. They both have banked $103,550 and both have a lifetime best mark of 1:54.3.
Fast Choice is a son of Courtly Choice-Fashion Guru and is trained by Jared Bako. Thirsty Thursday is a son of Huntsville-Tequila Monday and is trained by Travis Alexander.
It should be a great race. Barring a dead heat at least one of them will not leave undefeated.
The 13-race card starts at 6:05 p.m.
