USHDC makes Oak Grove debut, raises money for charity

Columbus, OH — The United States Harness Drivers Club (USHDC) made its Kentucky debut on Sunday (April 16) at Oak Grove Racing when Ayr Pioneer GB captured the afternoon’s ninth race for amateur driver Dein Spriggs.

Wagering on the event was strong and supported by the wagering public.

Spriggs, the USHDC president, was effusive in his praise of the Oak Grove management team: “Oak Grove is a great facility, and we’re very happy to be here. Kevin Mack (Racing Secretary) and Cara Collins (Equestrian Operations Manager) have gone above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Also, Kenny Jackson of Kentuckiana Farms was instrumental in making this happen. We’re grateful for his support.”

A central tenet of the club is to raise money for designated charitable causes. On Sunday, USHDC drivers presented Oak Grove mayor Jackie Oliver with a $1,000 check to benefit the Christian County (KY) Humane Society.

The amateur drivers look forward to this coming Sunday’s event at Oak Grove.
